The monitored sites are now selected by following a sampling plan, based on a random draw. This makes it possible to have maximum representativeness of the different habitats and results that can be generalized to all national populations of the species concerned.
Aim
The aim of the project is to monitor common birds in the wider countryside. The Temporal Monitoring of Common Birds (STOC program) is designed to assess spatial and temporal variations in the abundance of breeding populations of common birds. It is based on point counts (STOC-EPS, Simple Punctual Sampling).
