A citizen humanities project for the preservation, development and communication of the cultural and textual heritage of the historical region of Tyrol.

Aim

The objective of the project is twofold: increase access to historical newspaper collections by digitising some 500,000 pages published between 1850 and 1950; and investigate the potential of citizen engagement as a means of making these cultural assets more widely known, while harvesting data for research.

How to participate

From home and by attending the workshops organised throughout the duration of the project.

Some knowledge of German and blackletter script is required.

Needed equipment

A desktop computer or laptop and an internet connection.
